The Mib-solar profilometer undergoing an international rescue operation, reported in Bnews

Dr Chiara Liliana Boldrini, the Milano-Bicocca solar energy research centre (Mib-solar) technician, reports a fine example of international scientific solidarity in an article on BNews, the blog of the University of Milano-Bicocca, published on March 21. Interviewed by Vito Bentivenga, Dr. Boldrini describes the successful adventure she underwent to make the profilometer used in the Research Centre work again after the failure of the PC that ran it. To achieve

Present and future of photovoltaic panels on BNews

Prof. Simona Binetti, director of the Milano-Bicocca Solar Energy Research Center (Mib-solar), interviewed on perovskites and innovative materials for photovoltaics on BNews, the blog of the University of Milano-Bicocca, published Feb. 20. Interviewed by Rossella Guido, Prof. Binetti discusses the advantages of perovskite solar cells, particularly useful in tandem cells with silicon modules or on a flexible substrate for vehicles integration, as well as those of thin-film cells such as

Bicocca Research: Mib-Solar and EERA for climate neutrality

In the October 2022 issue of “Bicocca Research” an article was published on the participation of the University of Milano-Bicocca, since 2011, in the “European Energy Research Alliance” (EERA), the largest energy research community in Europe covering the whole range of low-carbon technologies as well as systemic and cross-cutting topics. In particular, Mib-Solar center participates in the Joint Program Photovoltaic Solar Energy (JP-PV), which mainly focuses on developing low-cost high-efficiency photovoltaic

Mib-Solar on air: prof. Abbotto live interview at "RAI - Buongiorno regione"

This morning prof. Alessandro Abbotto, former director and member of the Mib-Solar center, was interviewed live by the host of “Buongiorno Regione”. Taking a cue from the sustainable mobility fair that closes today in Rho-FieraMilano, the presenter addressed prof. Abbotto several questions about both electric and hydrogen mobility. You can see the full movie here (from about minute 12:00 to 17:00).

Mib-Solar on air: debate with prof. Abbotto

Last night prof. Alessandro Abbotto, former director and member of the Mib-Solar center, participated to a debate broadcast on Cusano Italia TV within the program “L’imprenditore e gli altri”. Taking inspiration from his book “Idrogeno. Tutti i colori dell’energia”, prof. Abbotto was involved in discussing green energy, alongside the risks and benefits of nuclear energy described by other guests. You can see the full movie here (from minute 3:50 on).

Prof. Abbotto awarded with "Premio Percorsi"

On October 3rd, at the conclusion of the conference “Transizione Ecologica e Idrogeno Verde. Una possibilità per La Spezia?”, prof. Abbotto was awarded with the “Premio percorsi” by Associazione Percorsi di La Spezia for his book “Idrogeno. Tutti i colori dell’energia”. More details on the event here.

Mib-Solar on air: interviews to prof. Binetti

The 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion took place in Milan last week. During the congress, the director of the center, Prof. Simona Binetti, was interviewed by national TV network RAI, which dedicated two reports to the event. A first report was broadcast on Buongiorno Regione (from min 16:15 to min 18:15), in which the director spoke in general about the opportunities offered by photovoltaics and described the national Ph.D.

Mib-Solar center at WCPEC-8

The 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion has taken place in Milan last week. Mib-Solar researchers were there and presented their results, while some M.Sc. and Ph.D. students worked as staff members to help during the event. Furthermore, prof. Simona Binetti, Mib-Solar director, was interviewed by Italian national television network (RAI), which dedicated two reports to the event.
