Seminar by Dr. Tero-Petri Ruoko 18/10/2024

Dr. Tero-Petri Ruoko of Tampere University (Finland) will give a seminar entitled “Time-resolved spectroscopy: from semiconductors to confined materials“.

The event will take place on Friday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the seminar room, located on the first floor of Building U5.

The abstract of the presentation can be downloaded here.

Dr. Tero-Petri Ruoko is an Assistant Professor at Tampere University, specialising in time-resolved optical spectroscopy and spectroelectrochemistry. PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2017, Tero has held postdoctoral positions in Sweden, as a researcher at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE), and in Finland, as an MSCA fellow. Dr Ruoko will discuss the dynamics of charge carriers in various optically active systems, covering a range of timescales, from femtoseconds to seconds, and using techniques such as time-resolved optical spectroscopy, transient absorption, and photoluminescence measurements. These methods differentiate radiative and non-radiative processes, offering spatial information on the emission dynamics. The seminar will discuss applications of these techniques to diverse materials, including organic, metal oxide, perovskite semiconductors, and supramolecularly confined organic dyes.
For further information or to schedule a meeting to discuss these topics, Dr Tero-Petri Ruoko will be available at our Department of Materials, U5 building, from October 14th to 18th. Please contact Dr Vanira Trifiletti, esearcher at the Mib-Solar Center, to arrange an appointment.
