Prof. Manfredi, deputy director of the Mib-solar centre, recently published a paper on DSSC solar cells using green electrolytes (Deep Eutectic Solvents, DES) that for the first time were also tested under ambient light, with an efficiency of 8% under 1200 lux, higher than the only example in the literature that instead uses water as a solvent. The article was selected as the Inside Front Cover of issue 3, 2024 of the journal ‘Sustainable Energy & Fuels’.
