The first edition of the SUMMED-PV summer school, Summer School on Raw Materials in Photovoltaics, with funding from EIT Raw Materials, at the University of Milano-Bicocca from Sept. 8-13, 2024, has successfully taken place. Fifty students from Italian and foreign universities participated, attending five days of lectures, workshops, industrial plant and cultural visits, social events, and group activities. Our participants dove deep into hands-on workshops, collaborated with industry experts, and
Dr. Tero-Petri Ruoko of Tampere University (Finland) will give a seminar entitled “Time-resolved spectroscopy: from semiconductors to confined materials“. The event will take place on Friday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the seminar room, located on the first floor of Building U5. The abstract of the presentation can be downloaded here. Prof. Simona Binetti, director of MIB-SOLAR research center, is organizing the first edition of SUMMEd-PV Summer School on Raw Materials in Photovoltaics, to take place in University of Milano-Bicocca, 8-13 September 2024, with EIT Raw Materials financial support. Central themes of the school are raw materials, from use to recycling, involved in all the parts that make up a photovoltaic system, from cells, to panels, to control and energy conversion
Prof. Manfredi, deputy director of the Mib-solar centre, recently published a paper on DSSC solar cells using green electrolytes (Deep Eutectic Solvents, DES) that for the first time were also tested under ambient light, with an efficiency of 8% under 1200 lux, higher than the only example in the literature that instead uses water as a solvent. The article was selected as the Inside Front Cover of issue 3, 2024 of
